March 24, 2020 -Suspension of Online Market
We want to thank you again for your support of our local vendors and the online market we piloted this past Saturday. We were delighted by the number of people that took advantage of the opportunity to order local food for pick-up/delivery and have received so much positive feedback from the community.
This is why it is with great regret that we have to announce the immediate suspension of our online market. This was not a decision we took lightly, but one that we felt necessary given the staffing challenges and software issues we encountered. These are issues that we expect would become even more challenging as more customers started using the system.
All orders placed for this coming Saturday and the following Saturday (April 4th) will be fully refunded. We very much apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment.
We are wholly committed to serving the community by providing access to fresh, local and safe food. To that end, we are actively exploring other alternatives that will enable you to continue supporting and eating local during these unprecedented times. We also welcome suggestions from the community as to how we can continue to serve you.
Please stay tuned in the coming days as we work towards a new and better alternative.
In the meantime, we also have a number of vendors that are offering pick-ups/deliveries on their own – we will share details about these options on social media and work to update our website with this information as well.
Thank you for your understanding, support and cooperation,
The Charlottetown Farmers’ Market Cooperative
